At the last Sailing Talks in April we were overcome with the fantastic accounts as portrayed to us by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Mike Golding and Peter Bruce and at the end Bob Hayes suggested to the audience that perhaps we should improve the balance of speakers to include a lady that has achieved a great feat of endurance on the water........well, we have done better than one and now we are very pleased to announce an all female line-up in November.

On Thursday 30th November we will have Tracy Edwards, MBE to give a talk on Maiden and the all female crew that took part in the 1989 Whitbread Round the World race, plus what she intends to use her for in the future following her refit at a boatyard on the

You will have the opportunity to purchase an ''on the spot'' signed copy of Tracy's  book with all profits going to the Maiden Project.

Also appearing will be Helena Lucas MBE, Paralympic winner of gold medal for Britain in the 2.4mR - 1 person keelboat races at Weymouth in 2012,  plus our local author Nicola Rodriguez who wrote the famous book  'Sail away, How to escape the rat race and
    live the dream'

The event this time will start at the Medieval Hall with tea or coffee being served from 10:30 so follow the board sign giving directions from the West Walk in the Close just a few metres along from Arundells. There will be stewards there to assist. Anyone with walking
difficulties can be dropped off at this point otherwise car parking in the Close is at the normal car park.

Book now to avoid disappointment and we look forward to seeing you once again in November.
